A reader on r/Amd_Intel_Nvidia flagged that our used-RTX-3090 guide was quoting stale prices, a used 3090 at ~$700, when 2026’s AI-demand surge had pushed typical used prices to ~$1,100. They were right: used-GPU prices roughly doubled through the year and our figures hadn’t kept up. We updated every price in the article (and the underlying hardware database that feeds our calculators), re-checked the value comparison, at ~$1,100 a new RTX 5080 now costs about the same, so the case rests on the 3090’s 24 GB and CUDA, not a low price, and cross-referenced our automated used-GPU price index. Lesson logged: in this market, used-GPU prices need re-verifying monthly.
June 10, 2026, Mac Studio M3 Ultra vs DGX Spark: benchmark wasn't apples-to-apples
A reader correctly flagged that the headline owner benchmark in our Mac Studio M3 Ultra vs DGX Spark comparison compared the Mac running an MLX 6-bit quantization against the Sparks running INT4 (roughly 4-bit), different precisions, so the tokens-per-second figures aren't a controlled comparison. We added a caveat paragraph explaining the mismatch (and why, if anything, it understates the Mac's showing), and noted in the article's sources section that the numbers are directional rather than controlled. Thanks to the commenter who caught it.
